Sarah's Story
Sarah began singing in the car of a Whole Foods parking lot at the age of 2, when she gave a rousing performance of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" to her grandfather. Her grandmother will remind you every time she sees you that baby Sarah performed with perfect pitch, and how ecstatic this made Sarah's MIT chemistry professor grandfather. When she was 7 Sarah started piano lessons, and from there she was hooked, experimenting with any instrument she could get her hands on. As a teenager, Sarah began struggling a lot with her mental health and decided that no matter what she did with her life, she wanted to help people. After meeting and being inspired by her friend Madelyn Paquette, Sarah began experimenting with songwriting as a way to express what was lurking in the deep recesses of her mind. After 10 years of perfecting her craft, she now proudly brings to life the emotions that most people would rather not feel. Throughout this journey, Sarah was also continuing her study of piano and teaching herself guitar. She also got diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 17, six months before she left for Northeastern. After a year and a half of nursing school, she decided that she could no longer ignore her all-consuming passion for music, and applied to Berklee. She studied a bit of everything, from creative entrepreneurship to songwriting and recording & production. She was a part of Berklee Popular Music Institute program, and got the opportunity to be a tour manager for both Vivi Rincon at Bourbon & Beyond and Kieran Rhodes at Sound On Sound. Currently she is working as the creative director for JVK, as well as a few creative contracted jobs. Through these jobs she has discovered her love for supporting other artists, and has found a way to help people while pursuing her passion. Sarah is now 23 and getting ready to graduate. She has no idea what the future has in store for her, but is excited to experience all the highs and lows that come with it. Sarah is a fierce advocate for mental health and type 1 diabetes awareness, and a passionate musician and artist.
